Yogis guide to Ubud, Bali

Basically you cant go wrong eating in heaven (aka. Ubud) but you can go very right. I was lucky enough to be in beloved Bali for the Spirit Festival last week, 5 days of abundant yoga, music & dance, and I wanted to share with you some of my fave spots to be nourished while you are blissing out on the high vibes and soul quenching green of this special little island.

Lets dive in!

Bali Buda

Probably the original healthy eating venue in Bali, this place has been around forever and they know how to deliver exactly what we like to eat. Everything is made in house daily, mostly organic AND they work with local non profit organisation and are committed to being 'waste free' and as sustainable as possible.

My faves: Jamu Jamu, the traditional balinese turmeric drink (I cant get enough of this stuff) and the Macrobiotic Plate

Alchemy

Not only does this place share the same name as us but they also serve some of the best salads, smoothies and treats in Ubud.  You can make your own salad at their all raw, vegan, organic salad bar and they have some amazing raw chocolate creations. Alchemy is also a holistic healing clinic and have a sweet health food store.

Soma

This is the type of place where it seems like there is always someone playing a guitar and synchronisities happen. Ive had some of the most inspired conversations here and the vibe is so sweet you could hang out here all day.  Like all the cafes on this list, the menu is mind blowing and my fave thing to order is their spin on Indonesian Gado gado (the streamed veggie with peanut/lime sauce) SOO GOOD.  They also offer Permaculture and other workshops at a nearby farm, I once went and leant how to convert a motorcycle engine to run on vegetable oil (yep, random but cool)

Clear

ahhhhhh Clear. Always my first stop when landing in Ubud. They are in a new (and even more lovely) location and you can sit overlooking the treetops and temples for hours.  The staff are so sweet, you'll feel completely taken care of and at home.

Must order: Chocolate Matrix smoothie

Moksa

A new discovery for me on this trip and one I was SO pleasantly surprised to make. This place is totally gorgeous and peaceful, a little bit tricky to find as it's out of the town centre but definitely worth venturing for. Not only is the food healthy, organic, gluten free etc. but its presented so artfully it makes for a meditative experience.  Their concept is aligned to a yogic vision for how to evolve as a society the intention is pure and heartfelt.

I went a couple of times during the week and everything was amazing.
