With lush coconut groves as far as the eye can see, this soul-quenching retreat will allow you to discover your unique purpose and what it means to live a meaningful life. This retreat is dedicated to honouring your body as a temple and opening to the magic and wisdom that India has to offer.
Join me this October, on a pilgrimage to the green, serene coast of South India. If you have ever dreamed of exploring India, this is for you. Over 6 days, immerse in inspiring daily yoga and meditation accompanied by local spiritual musicians, healing Ayurvedic massage treatments, guided writing reflection to discover our unique challenges and gifts and nourishing organic, vegetarian meals.
Our retreat coincides with the spring season, a time of renewal, rebirth and bursting forth into new life. This is a potent time to be on retreat, replenishing your vital energy and invoking clarity in body, mind and heart for the new cycle.
In October, South India is drenched in golden light, the days are long and the pace is slow. Our days will be initiated with a traditional Namaskar practice (sun salutation) practice and be complemented by healing music, mantra, pranayama and meditation practices.
Upon arriving on retreat you will have the opportunity to have a full Ayurvedic consultation with the resident doctor and each day will include healing treatments like massage to balance your individual dosha constitution.
The meals prepared at our retreat are made from the freshest produce from the on site garden and are designed to balance and nourish on every level. Each day you will be guided through a writing meditation and provided with specific questions to reflect on your inner and outer life and what it would feel like to live passionately and On Purpose. We will also take a deeper look at our personal power, where our challenges and unique gifts lie and why this points directly to our dharma (life's purpose)
Evening yoga practice will be at sunset and the intention for this time is to go deeper into restorative, lunar yoga practices. These gentle practices are incredibly soothing for the nervous system and the body has time to heal and renew. Harmonizing with the sun and moon through our practice promotes optimal wellbeing and a deeply rejuvenating experience.
Our retreat is located in a traditional area, among villages, guests have to observe good behaviour and way of dressing. Avoid transparent, short and tight clothes. For women, a long scarf is good to have when going out of the retreat to cover shoulders and breast and feel comfortable in public places. It is fine to wear you normal yoga clothes while within the retreat centre. The yoga shala is sacred space that must be respected. No alcohol, drugs or smoking is allowed at the centre. Silence must be observed after 10pm.
Ayurveda is the sister science to yoga and is India's traditional, holistic medicinal system. The principles of ayurveda are to restore and optimise the flow of prana to bring the body, mind, emotions and soul into a state of harmony with our natural state and nature itself.

Serene Kochi has been drawing traders and explorers to its shores for over 600 years. Nowhere else in India could you find such an intriguing mix: giant fishing nets from China, a 400-year-old synagogue, ancient mosques, Portuguese houses and the crumbling remains of the British Raj. The result is an unlikely blend of medieval Portugal, Holland and an English village grafted onto the tropical Malabar Coast. It’s a delightful place to spend some time and nap in some of India’s finest homestays and heritage accommodation. Kochi is also a centre for Keralan arts and one of the best places to see Kathakali and kalarippayattu.

IM A BEGINNER YOGI, CAN I COME?
Absolutely! Whether you are new to yoga, this is your first ever yoga retreat or you're a junkie for this stuff, you will have a nourishing and rich experience. All levels are welcome and everyone will be fully supported in their yoga journey.
CAN I BRING MY PARTNER?
For sure! This retreat will be super chilled and you will get lots of time to hang out together. If your partner is new to yoga, thats fine! Encourage them to give it a go and remember it's not a competition!
DO I ORGANISE MY OWN FLIGHTS AND TRANSFERS?
Yep, you can book your own flights, and we can hook you up with an awesome travel agent if you like. You can fly directly into Kochi and if you would like us to arrange an airport transfer to the retreat centre, no problem. Just send us an email with your flight details.
I'M SUPER PICKY ABOUT FOOD.....
Awesome. So are we. whether you're vego, gluten free, dairy free or anything else, there are heaps of options here. The food will be beautifully healthy, clean and fresh. ALL of our meals will be ayurvedically balanced, vegetarian and gluten free. Please let us know if you have any food requirements or health challenges that you are concerned about.

Check in time is 12 noon on the 20 October . You may arrive early, but we cannot guarantee that your room will be available until noon. Check out time is 11:00 am on the 25th.
WHAT ARE THE ROOMS LIKE?
At Swastha retreat centre, you will find living spaces that complement the simplicity of the nature around them. Clean, unpretentious cottages that face the glory of the rising sun across the river. All rooms are twin share, beds include mosquitoes protection, bathroom with running hot water, veranda facing the Periyar river and private courtyard with hammocks.
WHAT IF I CHANGE MY MIND?
We understand that life sometimes throws curveballs, we can offer you a full refund if required up to 3 months prior to the retreat. The places are limited and refunds after this point will not be possible. In the case that you are unable to join us, you can gift or sell your place to a friend or family member.
