(Self)Knowledge is power

Shakti is the power of Shiva, or the power of peace. It is not power born of violence or aggression, it is the power born of passivity, silence of the mind and the energy that comes forth from the void, like life that comes forth from the womb. Shakti is not a power that is asserted against something but a power that enlivens everything from within”

Knowledge is Power

it’s true, but I’m not talking facts or figures. The kind of knowing that will empower everything you do and say is the knowledge of Self.

It’s time to get to know yourself, be intimate with your Self, learn every intricate detail of your Self like you would a lover, and make the loving relationship with your Self the primary one in your life. According to the Vedas and yogic philosophy there are three paths to self-realization and the path of knowledge, Jnana, is one. Stepping onto the path of Jnana, we look inwardly, this path leads us to be empowered with the freedom of ultimate Knowing.

I used to cringe at the word power. It had a forceful feeling to it and I didn’t want to be seen as ‘power hungry’ Being powerful meant taking power from others.  I associated the word power with aggression and I couldn’t figure out how Power was reflected in the feminine. Until I read this, and the penny dropped.

Presence is your Superpower

Being present is a phrase that gets thrown around all the freaking time and doesn’t always feel tangible. We all know it’s important to ‘be present’ but what does it really look and feel like? We’re about to discover why paying attention is the biggest gift you can give yourself.

Here’s the unfortunate truth, being present is about telling the truth, firstly to ourselves, and in every moment. It’s being honest with ourselves about what we feel, even when the feeling is not welcome. Presence is being honest with ourselves about what is actually unfolding in each moment. Even when that moment contains something we would not choose, did not envision or pin on our manifestation board.

Since I’m telling the truth, sometimes-shitty things happen, right? Shocking things happen. Sweet things happen. Sublime things happen. And when I allow myself to bravely feel the sublimity and experience even the shitty happenings, I do not miss a moment. I feel the spectrum of my life expanded and I can embrace the fullness of this human experience.

The truth really will set you Free

When we are honest with ourselves, we are able to respond to each moment with exactly what that moment calls for. Without a bigger or hidden agenda, without trying to manipulate the moment into something more desirable and without denying the truth of what is.

To Honour the Actuality of what Is.

This is your Superpower.
